REGISTRATION FOR SPRING 2026 IS OPEN!

Player Evaluations

Player evaluations are held before the start of the Spring season to help place players in the appropriate division and to create balanced teams. Evaluations are not tryouts and no players are cut from the program.

Parents will receive their player’s scheduled one-hour time slot a few days before evaluations.

Majors & Minor-A evaluations

All players League Ages 8–12 are required to participate in Majors & Minor-A evaluations. The only exception is for 8-year-olds who request to play Minor-B; those players should attend the Minor-B evaluations instead.

Draft and placement rules for this group:

  • 12-year-olds MUST be drafted by a Majors team.
  • 11-year-olds who played in Majors last spring MUST be drafted by a Majors team.
  • 11-year-olds who did not play in Majors last spring MAY be drafted by a Majors team; if not, they WILL be drafted by a Minor-A team.
  • 10-year-olds not drafted by a Majors team, or those who opt out of Majors eligibility, WILL be drafted by a Minor-A team.
  • 9-year-olds WILL be drafted by a Minor-A team unless there is a safety concern.
  • 8-year-olds not drafted by a Minor-A team, or those who elect not to be eligible for the Minor-A draft, WILL be placed on a Minor-B team.

Minor-B evaluations

All players League Ages 6 and 7 (and 8-year-olds requesting Minor-B) are encouraged to participate in Minor-B evaluations.

The only exception is for 6-year-olds requesting Tee-Ball; those players should attend the Tee-Ball Clinic instead.

Placement rules for Minor-B eligible players:

  • 8-year-olds who opt out of Minor-A draft eligibility WILL be placed on a Minor-B team.
  • 7-year-olds WILL be placed on a Minor-B team.
  • 6-year-olds requesting Minor-B who have played at least one year of Tee-Ball WILL be placed on a Minor-B team unless there is a safety concern.

Juniors & Seniors evaluations

All players League Ages 13–16 are required to participate in Juniors & Seniors evaluations.

Placement rules for upper divisions:

  • 13-year-olds and 14-year-olds MUST be drafted by a Juniors team.
  • 15-year-olds and 16-year-olds MUST be drafted by a Seniors team.

What happens at evaluations?

Evaluations are run in small groups. Players rotate through several stations so coaches can observe basic skills. Typical stations include:

  • Hitting (coach pitch or machine pitch)
  • Fielding ground balls and throwing
  • Catching fly balls
  • Running from home to first base

The purpose is to place each player where they will be safe, challenged, and successful.

Scheduling & make-up sessions

Evaluation dates and time slots will be emailed a few days in advance. If your player cannot attend their assigned time due to illness or a conflict, please notify the Player Agent at [email protected] as soon as possible. Make-up slots may be available.

Tee-Ball Clinic

Players League Ages 4 and 5 (and 6-year-olds choosing Tee-Ball) should attend the league’s Tee-Ball Clinic. This is a fun, instructional session designed to teach beginner-level skills in a low-pressure environment.

Clinic details (date, time, location) will be emailed and posted on the website each year.
