2022 Mid-Cap Nines win District Championship!

In front of a huge Mid-Cap crowd at Catalina, Mid-Cap walked it off in the 7th inning to beat Canal 11-10 and win the District 2 title. Mid-Cap had run to a 10-4 lead after 4 innings, but Canal rallied with 5 runs in the 5th inning and one in the 6th innings to tie the game at 10. It was still 10-10 in the bottom of the 7th. Declan McLaughlin led of the bottom of the 7th with a single to left-center. He advanced on wild pitches to 3B and scores on a ground ball by Jake Moorhead, sitting off a wild celebration.
McLaughlin pitched the first 4 innings. Brycen Wyatt earned the win with 2+ innings of relief.
Midway's last district title was in 2007 (10yo tourney). Capitol's last title was in 2009 (Juniors).
