Mid-Cap is now Pike Creek Little League

For the last 30 years, Midway and Capitol Little Leagues have been shrinking and working together to deal with this.  As many of our neighborhoods grew older (more grandparents than familes with school-age children) and the options for sports outside of Little League grew, the number of players in both leagues slowly shrank.
Since the early 1990's, Midway and Capitol have interleagued at the Major level.  And with a few exceptions, Capitol players always played in the Midway Junior and Senior leagues.  In 2019, the leagues began discussing moving toward merger.  In 2020, 2021, and 2022, the leagues operated as a combined league.  Players tried out together and were selected onto combined teams.  The combined league (called Midway-Capitol or Mid-Cap for short) fielded one all-star team in each age group.
This worked very well, as the combined league had enough numbers to field more teams in each division.  And it also reflected in the strength our all-star teams which won MANY more games than the two separate league did over the last 20 years.  For 3 straight years, the Mid-Cap 11-12 District team finished second in the district.  The 2021 Junior All-Stars also finish second.  And in 2022, Mid-Cap teams won 18 games, led by the Nines who went 6-1 to win the District title.  The Major District team and the Eights also came in 2nd in the District.
In the fall of 2022, Little League International approved the merger of the two leagues.  The new Board (as well as a poll of league families) decided by a narrow margin that a new name was needed to help the league move forward with a new identity.  Also, by a close vote, it was decided that the new name would be Pike Creek Little League.
With sadness and pride, we say good-bye to the long histories of Midway and Capitol Little Leagues.  The histories of these leagues will always be a part of Pike Creek Little League.  But, not it's time to make more history as Pike Creek Little League!
